Homestay Family AGREEMENTS
AGREEMENT Between: Homestay Provider (¡°HP¡±) And MyCanadaHomestay.net Inc. (¡°MCH¡±) 1) Basic Requirement Unless otherwise specifically agreed in writing, HP provides: - All or some meals according to your Homestay profile - Student/guest is invited to participate in all family activities - Private bedroom(unless otherwise agree to) containing a bed, closet, dresser, desk or table with a lamp or adequate lighting and a chair for studying - Bedding and towels - Use of television and telephone(local calls only) - Access to the family computer or wireless internet(via the student/guest¡¯s own laptop) - Laundry or laundry supplies and access to laundry facilities 2) Fees - The homestay fee for a student/guest shall be between $700 and $800 per month depends on our survey. - In case the student/guest stays for less than a month period, a prorated fee of $23~27 per day can be applied for that month. - In case of providing pickup service for your student/guest, MCH will pay the homestay $50. - MCH will charge a one-time placement fee of $30-100 from homestay family for every each new student we place. Note1: MCH will mail the homestay fee out for the first month after we received it from your student/guest. MCH will deduct the placement fee from the first month¡¯s homestay fee. From the second month, the student/guest will pay it directly to HP. Note2: If the student(s) are enrolled in a secondary school program, the monthly homestay fee will be the same as that offered by the related school district. 3) Responsibilities HP is responsible for - Showing the student/guest how to go to school and to come home from school via public transportation prior to his/her school starting date as well as where to purchase a monthly pass or Faresavers. - Updating your homestay profile up to date through our website or telephone call, etc. - Holding valid insurance, including third party liability, and informing their insurance company that there will be an additional resident. HP is NOT responsible for - Insurance covering sickness, accident, personal liability and personal belongings of the student/guest. MCH is NOT responsible for - Damages or debts incurred by the student/guest - Missing money or other items. - Long distance telephone calls made by the student/guest 4) Termination - In the event that either party [HP or the student/guest] wishes to terminate the homestay, 2 WEEKS notice must be given. - If the HP does not meet the requirements or criteria of the homestay guidelines or breaches any of the terms and conditions stated within this agreement, MCH reserves the right to terminate the homestay agreement immediately. - If it is discovered that there is a problem in the home, such as alcohol/drug abuse, improper physical advances, etc., the student(s) will be removed immediately and legal action will be taken if warranted. 5) Special Treatment for student(s) under the age of 18 - A Criminal Record Search is mandatory - The student(s) MUST NOT be left alone during a vacation or family absence. If you must be away for a short time, arrangements must be made with a friend or relative to take care of your student. 6) Refund Policies a) Immigration Issues: If Canadian Immigration and Citizenship does not provide authorization a student/guest to enter Canada, or authorization is not received before the start of the school program, the student/guest will receive a full refund. The student/guest has to provide MCH with written proof of immigration issues. b) Dismissal from Homestay Without 2 WEEKS notice: If a student/guest is dismissed by the HP (he/she has violated Canadian law) after arrival with less than 2 Weeks notice, the student/guest will receive a full refund he/she has paid for the month that a written notice of dismissal is given to the student/guest. c) Dismissal from Homestay With 2 weeks notice: If a student/guest is dismissed by the HP (he/she has violated Canadian law) after arrival with 2 Weeks notice, the amount calculated on a strict pro-rata basis for the used portion to the date of cancellation shall be deducted before any Homestay Fees are refunded by the Homestay Provider. d) Irreconcilable Differences: There will be no refund if less than 2 WEEKS notice is given to HP from student/guest. Once the student/guest has arrived, 2 WEEKS notice to the Homestay Provider is required to change. 7) Photo release agreement If you upload your photos to our website or send hard copy photos to our office, it means you consent that those photos may be used by MCH for promotional purposes, including use on MCH website. MCH also have the right to duplicate, reproduce and make other use of your photos. if you don't want your photos posted in our website,please remove your photo from our web site after you login or ask us to remove them.
